The PAC Website has a new URL which is easy to remember and will always redirect you to the proper website regardless of what server it is located on. Thanks to atari.org, the new permanent PAC website address is:
And thanks to Pdxweb.net, who is hosting our site for free. http://pac.pdxweb.net
In October 1997 leadership of PAC was turned over to David Hunt as President, and Ben Smith as Vice President after the sudden resignation of former president Rich Tietjens. Former Vice President Martin Crommie was forced to step aside due to his work requirements, but plans on staying as active in the club as possible. Mr. Hunt, a former PAC President, and also one of the original founders of the club, announced at the November meeting that he would be restructuring the club, so that it will not only be offering support for the 8-Bit and ST lines of computers, but also the game machine line and any platform using Atari Emulators, so the club could truly support ALL Atarians. Many board positions are un-filled at the present time, and we are requesting anyone who may be interested to please step forward. Currently we are in need of people to fill the following board positions: Secretary/Treasurer, Emulator Disk Librarian, Newsletter Editor, Sergeant at Arms, and Public Relations. The quicker we can get these positions filled, the quicker we can get the club back on the right track once again. PAC is now THE Atari Club in the Portland Metro area, and we urge all of the former members of SWAG, STEP, and ACE to come and join us. We are here to stay, and it will only get better from this point on, so if you are using anything Atari, or an Atari Emulator on any platform, then PAC is the place to come for support. Mr. David Moore is once again in the Portland area, and reports that he will be able to perform repairs on many types of Atari equipment. He is also our local hardware guru and should be able to assist people in getting their systems up and running to their fullest potential.
We are planning on restructuring and reviving our newsletter, putting it on disk to be available at the meetings and on-line. In addition to the newsletter, it will also be a disk of the month in which we hope to include some good programs on as well. This disk will be available free for all paid members at the meetings, and for a nominal charge to non-members. We need your contributions for both the newsletter and all of the disk libraries. You may E-Mail them to me by Clicking Here.
For current club information please feel free to call our Vice President Ben Smith at (503)-256-9974 anytime, and stay tuned to this web page.
